Avant Garde returns after nearly 15 years and is back on newsstands as a twice-yearly, 360-page men’s and women’s edition alongside an online platform. Editor-in-chief Bastiaan van Schaik aims to shake up today’s media landscape with content spanning fashion, art, design, lifestyle, politics, and travel—“everything that has to do with taste.” First launched in 1980, Avant Garde was the Netherlands’ first true fashion magazine and stood out internationally for its groundbreaking approach. Van Schaik aims to restore the magazine to its former influential role.
